Ballet
Following the standard structure of ballet class, students have the chance to exercise their minds, imaginations and their bodies while learning the basics of ballet. As dancers progress, they learn to better incorporate their personal artistry into the movement. Ballet is a great class to start with, as it can also serve as the foundation for jazz and modern dance styles. Ballet classes are offered for dancers of all levels, ages 4-adult.
Jazz and Modern
Jazz and Modern classes are designed solely with the student in mind, providing a thorough understanding of classic jazz styles and modern dance techniques. These styles allows students the opportunity to express themselves in their own unique way, while gaining strength and self confidence. We want our students to keep an open mind and have fun at the Gary Geis School of Dance.
Tap
Tap is high energy and lots of fun! Once our students have mastered the tap basics, they progress on to more complex steps, rhythms, and combinations. Tap dance is very in sync with the music, so students not only learn tap steps, but they learn to hear and internalize the counts and beats in the music, which can then be utilized across all dance styles!
